Deco Divers
Back in 2007 it al started with a passion for diving and a vision that developed through time. From dive professional, to shark expert, teaching, travelling and in the meantime building a team of professionals. We are based in Egypt but offer diving worldwide by organizing our own trips in many exotic dive destinations. And everywhere we go we teach diving in almost every level, from learning to dive until instructor courses by Ahmed Mamdouh, we offer the full range. Our motto is to personalize and customize for our guests wherever possible. So if you have any special requests or wishes, feel free to ask us and we might just be able to fullfill your wish.
How it all started
Founded in 2007 by Ahmed Mamdouh, the Deco Divers club was established to bring together diving enthusiasts and to encourage more people to delve into the world of diving. This was done with a mission to spread diving in Egypt, where at the time it was still unpopular among the local market. Ahmed could see how lucky we are to have the Red Sea and all its marvels and wanted to spread this experience in his home country.
Becoming shark expert
At the time (back in 2007) Ahmeds passion for diving with sharks was also soaring. Where Ahmed seeked every opportunity to dive with sharks and learn about them both in the Red Sea and all around the world. Building expertise in the area and diving with and learning from pioneers and legends of the industry from all around the world. Developing his vast knowledge and expertise understanding and diving with sharks. Ahmed also became an ambassador for shark project, supporting his mission to raise awareness about sharks and educate people about them.
To raise awareness for the sharks we organize workshops in combination with trips. Teaching about the biology of sharks, about how their body is build and what special characteristics sharks have in comparison to other fish. About feeding behaviour, mating and much more. And of course we teach how to safely dive with sharks, how you as a diver need to behave and especially what you not need to do. All and all a great way to spend a week learning about sharks and diving with them and all this we do around the world.

A dive trip operator
While becoming a Shark Diving Expert, Ahmed also expanded the club into a full on independent dive trip operator, operating numerous trips to a wide range of destinations worldwide, yet still managed to keep its family and friends feel.
The Red Sea offers world-class diving that satisfies all divers, but we know there are divers out there with an appetite for more. If you want a more unique diving adventure, then join us on one of our #DiveTheWorld global trips. We travel to world-famous destinations that give you an unmatched experience. From the Sardine Run in South Africa, to shark diving in the Bahamas, Guadalupe Island, Mozambique, Socorro and South Africa with famous experts in the shark diving field, to week-long liveaboards in the magical Maldives, to snorkelling with whales in Sri Lanka. The list goes on and keeps growing.
As we organize our diving and trips we prefer to go diving in small groups, we make time to help, safety is a serious matter to us and we prefer the friends and family feel.
Our dive school
The club has as evolved as a dive school with more than 8 PADI instructors on different levels all dedicated and passionate about introducing people to the world of diving and working with them on developing their skills and going the distance. And all the instructors have been trained by Ahmed Mamdouh who is a PADI Course Director and founder of Deco Divers.
In our dive school we offer a very wide range of PADI scuba diving courses, from PADI Open Water Diver all the way to PADI dive Master, plus a wide variety of specialities, from underwater navigator to photography, nitrox and much more. Besides the PADI teachings we have also developed a series of webinars and offer Shark School workshops on our trips.
Instructor courses
As icing on our cake of teaching we are fortunate to have a Course Director on our team and he organizes PADI Instructor Development Courses in Egypt. In a time span of several weeks a Dive Master can become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. After intensive training, self study and numerous water sessions the potential instructor will be examined by PADI examiners.
